Some Random Thought

Once again, I'll have to say goodbye to Malaysia real soon. Will be leaving for London in another 8 days. This time, I think I'll gleefully leave Malaysia without having any sorrowful thoughts.

A year ago, I vividly remember how excited, yet afraid I was to leave home. Nasty thoughts haunted me. I didn't want to enter a completely new and alien country. I wasn't sure if I was independent enough. I was afraid I could not pass this hurdle. I was really worried that I'll be all alone. I was afraid that I would give up and lose my scholarship.

How wrong I was.

This time, I really miss the fun I had in London. I miss my newly-made friends. I miss the ones from my department, MSoc, Lion Dance, ULUBUDA, Beit Hall and other universities. I've not been catching up with them (only through facebook) ever since I was back. Wanted to meet a lot of them but to no avail.

On another note, I think I've changed a lot characteristically. That was the comment I had from everyone. Whether it's good or bad, it has yet to be discovered. I see it as a 50-50 thing. Or perhaps, 70-30. Thinking about my future, what I really want in life and the problems I have to face if I were to do this....or that; seem to be my current hobby. I neither condone this hobby nor enjoy thinking about it. It does affect me but I think it is not to be neglected. It's something I really have to face.

Sigh! I suppose it's one of those stages in life......

This is what happens if

you have been mixing too much with a person by the name of Ong Syn-In.

Janet

Yin Mei

Kim Hong

Me (my very own version of "When studying Circuits")

When I first knew Yin Mei, Janet and Kim Hong, they were NEVER like that! :S Whether it's good or bad, it's up to you to decide.
Anyway, this post is for fun; out of boredom. Hehe.

And, for Joanne a.k.a. Meow! Thank you so much for the lovely good luck card you sent! The card's nice and I love your handwriting =)

Last Day of Spring Term

Looking back at what I did for this term, hmmm, I would say it's much better than the Autumn Term which ended last December. I'm less playful this term I think (don't laugh when I say this) :S

I had the toughest last week of term and I thank the people who were there to support and motivate me along the way! (you know who you are) Seriously, thanks! The continuous support I had certainly helped me during the week. Having 2 tests (Online test, Lab test) and 2 deadlines (Final programming, Radio design project) in a week is certainly not easy. Hopefully, I've learnt my lesson of not doing things at the eleventh hour from this.

Besides that, life is still alright. Currently, I'm having a 4-weeks hiatus i.e. "holiday". And oh, I know this is REALLY random but I just have to say it: Heng Kai suddenly LOVES eating bananas! (don't ask me why) I hope NONE of you will think I'm crazy or drunk after reading this post. I'm still sober okayy?? =)

Bananas rock! =)

Q&A Session with Dato Seri Najib

Had my lab oral this afternoon with my lab partner. It's not the best-ever presentation that I've done but it's not the worst either. So, I suppose it's alright?!

Anyway, nothing special for the day except for this Q&A session in the evening with our Deputy Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib. The audience was really aggressive: They hurled several difficult questions. Poor thing. But, that's his job isn't it? Besides that, nothing really interesting or amusing. They had their usual politics discussion: I seriously know NUTS about politics! All I know is Vision 2020? That's how terrible I am. I'm being too ignorant about politics in Malaysia. Maybe I should really start to read up about it. Does that make me a true and loyal Malaysian? lol.

And, the best part of everything: FOOD! Ate a little in Malaysia Hall and then went to the famous Four Seasons to have duck(sorry I forgot to take a picture of it)! *drools* But, we managed to get a GOOD picture with Dato Seri.

And, fine. I give up on this. The reason why I don't want to put up my pictures is because I think I look extremely atrocious with my newly dyed hair? Not being vain here, but honestly, I can't accept it because I feel that I no longer look like myself anymore. Swallowing my bitterness, I have no choice but to take it as it is since I chose to dye it in the first place.

Nintendo Wii

Some would probably think I'm insane. Here is what happened: I thought of getting a Nintendo Wii for my family and since they will be releasing it at 12am, I decided to go Oxford Street (hoping that I would be the lucky one) to get it. And, common sense tells you that it's merely impossible to get one if you are going to go there at 12am. I reach at 12.15am. That's even worse. Some people had been queuing since 7pm or even earlier than that. Silly me. When I've reached Oxford Street, HMV was closed already. Sigh. Couldn't even go in to have a look. Some people were still crazy enough to stand outside (they just LOVE the Wii) to wait.

HMV in Oxford Street

Anyway, I predicted that I would not be that lucky either. I just want to go out. No idea why. And, my purpose of going there was to have dinner as well. I slept in the evening and skipped dinner. Anyway, should I get a Nintendo Wii? Part of me tells me that I should but the other part suggests that I shouldn't. Being indecisive here.

On my way back (in the bus), I met this Chinese couple who managed to grab a set. According to them, they bought it for £180. Is it worth it? Should I get it for my family as Christmas present?

gay stalker!!!!

I seriously hate blogging. My friends who know me well enough should apprehend it. Anyhow, I think I should start blogging from today onwards to notify everyone (my friends, particularly) about my life/experiences in Imperial College. Let's skip the introduction and get down to the nitty-gritty.

As the title explains, it was about a horrifying incident which happened yesterday night in my hall (of residence).

This guy, a queer stalker to be precise, asked if he could use the toilet in my room. My room's at the 1st floor and we were at the Ground floor, so, I suggested him to use the toilet in the common room. I showed him the way there, and he abruptly told me he need not use the toilet anymore. At that time, honestly, I did not suspect anything. But, I already had the impression that this guy is peculiar. However, I pushed that thought aside, considering that I can be supersensitive at times. Then, here comes the 'interesting' part. My conversation with him was as follows.

Him: Hey! I heard that there are vacant rooms in this hall. Where do I get a form, to apply to stay here? (for your info, some of my hallmates were there at that time)
Me: er, I'm not quite sure about this. Personally, I think the rooms are all taken up. I think you should talk to the warden about this.
Him: Nah, I'm alright. I'm currently paying about £500 a week and the place isn't that good, after all. I want to have a look at the rooms here and see if it's alright or not. Can you show me your room for a minute?
Me: I'm sorry but I don't see a reason why you're allowed to see my room. Moreover, I have a roommate and he is not happy with me bringing people into our room. (I used that as an excuse!)

He tried persuading me, but I was annoyed. Finally, he gave up.

Him: Maybe you should just give me your hp number, instead? I might contact you if I want the tel number of the warden here or something.

And, I was stupid enough to give him my number!! :S I still didn't suspect anything that time, seriously. I was just annoyed with the way he begged me to allow him to see my room. After saving my number, he left and I went back to my room.

He sms-ed me right after that, and told me to call him back. Why should I? lol. My phone was out of credit! and NO way I'm gonna call him! I didn't reply his message either. So, he called.

*I guess I shouldnt reveal the details of the conversation here. It's rather unpleasant to hear. 18SX hahahaha. If you're still curious, you might consider sending £10 to my mailing address and I'll tell you more about it! hahahahahah*

How nice will it be if I receive such comments from a girl. I would really be flattered! but too bad, that's not the case. haha. sad case :( anyway, I've told him off and ignored him completely. I should be fine.

This serves as a reminder to everyone. Try not to be out alone, if you can, and always get some friends to go out with you! :) London is not THAT safe after all lol. there are stalkers around! So, BEWARE! and bring pepper-spray wherever you go! (that's what Kim Hong suggested) lol
